Samaritan House

Samaritan House serves homeless families with children in Lincoln County. Parents must have at least 50% custody of one dependent child or have an active plan of return if children are in the custody of the state.
The Samaritan House residency program is ten months long and includes three different stages. During phase one of the program, each resident family makes an extensive plan for case management. This includes setting goals, identifying strengths and challenges and building trust. During phase two of the program, residents are required to save 60% of their take home pay in an administered savings account. This money is returned to the resident upon graduation and is typically used to pay moving costs and deposits for a new apartment or rental home. During phase three of the program, residents enter into a legal lease agreement with Samaritan House and pay rent at 30% of the take home pay. Instead of saving 60% of their pay, they save 5%. All of the phases are meant to educate and guide families into healthier, more nurturing and sustainable dynamics.
