Arden Courts of Old Orchard (PA) held the "Biggest Loser" competition starting January 9 - March 28, 2017. 55% of the employees participated and paid $10 each toward the winning pot, which was awarded to the 1st and 2nd place biggest losers. Once committed to this three month health and fitness program, employees were randomly selected to be on two teams. "Teams are crucial to personal fitness and will help to encourage healthier lifestyle and choices" Tina Forsyth, Executive Director, explains. "We wanted to have a healthy competition, but be able to push each other towards our own personal goals." Weekly, total pounds from each team and the top person who lost the most weight were posted in the break room for bragging rights. The last week of March, Arden Courts of Old Orchard wrapped up the biggest loser program. Julian Gordon-Eady, Resident Caregiver, came in 3rd place with 14 lbs. lost, Kristin Hartman, Program Service Coordinator, came in 2nd losing a total of 18 lbs. and Rebecca Stone, Food Service Coordinator, was awarded 1st place losing 20 lbs! In total, the Old Orchard team lost 125 lbs. Their goal was to get as many to join in the movement to get healthier in 2017 and we believe they all succeeded!
