According to the 2010 Census, there are approximately 1,700 permanent residents living at Lake Waynoka. However, the majority of lakeside homes are occupied during weekends, especially during the spring, summer and fall months. Lake Waynoka is a growing community. There are several open gate events held at the lake each year, including the annual yard sale, Marina Day, Day at the Beach, Waynoka Day and the Labor Day Fireworks show. Visitors must obtain a pass from a property owner to enter the lake. Other visitors may obtain a temporary pass to eat at the restaurant or visit the lounge or recreation center. Guests at the recreation center may pay $7 a day to use the facilities.
