Designs of Distinction is a custom construction company specializing in New Home Construction; Remodeling, Room Additions and Renovations. The company was founded in 1989 by the current owners, Jerry Edmonds and Lana O'Meara.
Jerry is a licensed Contractor in Virginia and North Carolina and is a Professional Building Designer certified by the American Institute of Building Design (AIBD) having previously owned a building design firm. These skills allow Jerry to begin with blank paper and design that unique space for discerning Clients or modify existing plans to fit individual lifestyles.
Lana specializes in color and material selections to ensure a coordinated home from start to finish. In Homerama 2001, she received an award for her interior design and decorating in their Heron's Watch model. In 2007, Mystic Manor in Edinburgh Meadows won Best Home Furnishings. Lana is a member of the Board of directors for TBA and serves as the Vice Chairman of the Remodelers Council.
Together, Jerry and Lana have created their own style of partnership building. Their entries in Home Show and Remodeling competitions have won a variety of awards over the years in for New Construction and their superior Remodeling and Room Addition projects
