Alison Henry has established an international reputation as an interior designer, architect and furniture designer of the highest calibre. She has worked on global projects, both residential and hospitality, many of which have been based in South East Asia and Australasia where she established her name particularly in the eld of hotel design.
Projects include The Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong, The Observatory Hotel in Sydney for the Orient Express Group, the Dorchester Hotel in London for the Sultan of Brunei, and numerous yachts and private residential projects around the world.
Alison Henry’s style is elegant and refined, with dramatic statement pieces lending a unique edge to each project she works on, whether in the form of captivating chandeliers, over-sized mirrors and objets d’art. Her design aesthetic has been shaped by time spent in the Far East and Europe, and a passion for bringing light and sun into an interior, and also for introducing eclectic pieces of Chinese artefacts including oriental tapestries to contrast with artisanal pieces of furniture and European antiques. She has a love a play on textures, juxtaposing silks with soft leathers and polished marble to create layering and intrigue.
Every project is unique and she will work closely with her clients to study the architectural history of the building, before working on an appropriate narrative for each scheme. Her aim is to create interiors which are timeless yet distinctive, whilst being practical and comfortable for everyday living.
