Girls In Action: Women in History begins next Tuesday, Sept. 19 The Bay View Community Center is excited to invite 9-12 year old girls to register for an all new session of Girls in Action! Join Simone Gaspar, GIA Leader, to learn more about amazing women leaders and how we can follow their example. Fun activities are planned for each night! GIRLS IN ACTION We learn to respect the past, live in the present, and shape our future! For Girls ages 9 – 12 years old Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30 pm September 19 – November 7, 2017 Cost: $12 or $2/visit SESSION SCHEDULE: WOMEN IN HISTORY! September 19 – “Getting to Know You” - Create your own mission statement and business card. “I Believe in the power of the voice of Women” – Malala Yousafzai September 26 – “Get Crafty” - Heart String Art Project “I am my own muse – Frida Kahlo October 3 – “Girls Support Girls” - Friend vs Frenemy activity. Letters to a girls who's been a good friend. “The success of every woman should be the inspiration to another. We should raise each other up. Make sure you’re very courageous: be strong, be extremely kind, and above all be humble” – Serena Williams October 10 – “Girls Can Cook” - Cooking Veggie nuggets and making homemade dipping sauces “This is my invariable advice to people: learn how to cook-try new recipes, learn from your mistakes, be fearless, and above all have fun!” – Julia Child October 17 – “I Love Me” - Yoga - wear comfortable clothing “We have to care about our bodies and what we put in them. This is so amazing! Thank you to all the wonderful Bay View Bash Volunteers who are organizing this opportunity to help neighbors who are facing food insecurity and all of the Attendees supporting the effort!
Food Drive for the benefit of the Bay View Community Center's emergency food bank. Pease stop by the COUNTRY Financial tent near the kid’s area to donate nonperishable food items benefiting the food pantry at the Community Center. Cash donations are accepted at the information tent for the Bay View Bash.
