Lynden Public Schools began in 1876, classes were taught for 3 months a year until 1883 when the first school house was build between Fishtrap Creek and West Main Street. High school classes were started in 1906 consisting of 3 students. Currently, the Lynden Public School District operates 1 high school, 1 middle school, 3 elementary schools, and 1 K-12 alternative learning program. Student enrollment averages around 2,900 and we are the Mighty Lions!
