Whitlock Architects

Established in 2000, Whitlock Design Group has quickly been established in the Boston area design scene. We were featured in ‘Slammed Magazine’ (a trade magazine to New England restaurants) among 12 ‘Designers on Design’. Recent projects include King’s Lanes and Lounge in Rosemont IL, Dedham MA, and the Back Bay, Jasper White’s Summer Shack in Hingham, Jerry Remy’s Sports Bar & Grill on Boylston St (in collaboration with Sousa Design Architects), Chateau Restaurant in Burlington and Waltham, Jake n Joe’s Sports Grille in Norwood, and Wicked Fire-Kissed Pizza in Dedham. Past projects include Jasper White’s Summer Shack, Lucky’s Lounge and GameOn at Terminal A, Logan Airport, UpStairs on the Square in Harvard Square, Azure Restaurant and City Bar at the Lenox Hotel in Boston (in collaboration with THEREdesign and Dan Hisel), Parris and Ned Devine’s Irish Pub at Quincy Market, Todd English’s Bonfire Steakhouse and Rustic Kitchen, Campania Restaurant in Waltham, and many other restaurants, retail stores and places where the public gathers.

We strongly believe that the process of design and construction should be enjoyed. The key to this is building great relationships on accessibility, communication, and positive attitudes. The Design Process is like a great jazz session, a collaborative effort, requiring the talents and strengths of many. We take pride in our ability to work with our client’s vision, and bring it to fruition. Our completed designs include some spectacularly unique and exciting designs, reflecting the vastly different clients and projects we have served.

Publications and reviews of our work have been published in the Boston Globe, the Boston Phoenix, Stuff at Night, the Improper Bostonian and the Boston Business Journal in an article highlighting our designing restaurants and Architectural Record’s special lighting issue for the design of the Galaxy Café at the Museum of Science.
