Shepherdsville Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) strives to spread the love of God to others through our words and actions.

SCC strives to:

Our Congregation – Our Mission
Shepherdsville Christian Church is called to respond to the two great commandments of Christ: to love our Lord with all we are, and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. We recognize our diversity of understanding, we are united in our call to be an influence for good, responding to the church concerns, growth, and involvement.

Our Denomination
Our congregation is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) which is among the largest religious bodies native to the United States.
Disciples confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We affirm the Bible as authoritative in life and faith, yet we recognize and honor different interpretations. Disciples uphold the freedom of church members to study the Bible for themselves and encourage all persons to arrive at their own responsible conclusions. While there is diversity in belief among Disciples, we are united in our conviction that God wants us to love, study, worship and serve in the Spirit of Christ.

Worship
We invite everyone who is with us, regardless of denominational background, to share in the Lord’s Supper. Currently we have one worship service every Sunday at 11:00 , but anticipate adding another in the future. Our service is a mix of contemporary and traditional worship. Throughout the year special services including Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Christmas Eve are celebrated.

Sunday School
We consider basic Biblical teaching and Christian values foundational to spiritual life in all ages and stages. Sunday School starts at 10:00 and we have a variety of classes. Supervised child care is available for infants and toddlers during Sunday School and Worship.

Children – An Important Part of Worship
We recognize the importance of children participating in worship and welcome them in God’s presence. We offer a special Worship time designed especially for children ages K–4th grade that encourages learning and fellowship in a pleasant and well-supervised environment.

Music Programs
The music ministry of our church seeks to reach all people by focusing on ministry through music – communicating the good news of God’s love and grace in a variety of ways. Instrumentals, Soloists, etc, enhance the vocal offerings of the Adult, Youth and Children’s Choirs.

Service to the Community
Our outreach to the community includes work with Shepherd’s Shelter, Urban Spirit, Habitat for Humanity, Fellowship of Concern, our Prayer Shawl ministry, and various other outlets. We encourage you to participate.

Programs and Activities
Shepherdsville Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has many on-going programs and activities for all ages. These include active and exciting youth and children’s programs such as Vacation Bible School, camping, and Youth Groups on Sunday evenings. Adult activities include Bible Study, Disciples Women, Christian Men Fellowship, Out to Lunch Bunch, Dinner out Group, and various outings throughout the year.
