History:a multi-layered background enriches Grove. We began in 1974 as a working collective. Together the staff owned the business and developed principles which serve us well today.
We believe that symptoms in people are a result of the convergence of nature(what we inherit biologically)and environment (the many influences on our lives.) The context of our lives includes the interactions of these forces. They include gender and gender preference, social class, ethnicity, education, role models, work/career settings, relationships of all kinds, personal and family expectations. Backgrounds that include abuses of any kind also have a major impact on how people feel about themselves and their situations.
Our philosophy of treatment is based upon a strong belief that human beings are responsive and interactive. A holistic approach addresses symptoms that may be helped by medication as well as by talk therapy. Our purpose is to aid clients in their quest for personal authenticity, to ease the pain of living out their teach coping mechanisms, use techniques that are well established, and stay up to date with research about useful new ideas.
Our goal is to be a partner with the client in order to achieve mutually agreed upon results.
