Trinidad State is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association and has been since 1962. Established in 1925, Trinidad State Junior College was the first community college in the state of Colorado. Trinidad State opens doors for students in southern Colorado to explore their future. With an enrollment of about 1,800 students on two campuses, Trinidad State offers courses in many diverse areas including Gunsmithing, Aquaculture, Cosmetology, Welding and Nursing as well as traditional Arts and Sciences classes like English, Physics and Chemistry.
