Center Academy provides a small, safe, accredited college prep environment for students who have fallen behind or who want to get ahead. Based in Florida, Center Academy started the first school for dyslexia in the United Kingdom.
Center Academy is family-operated since 1968. It was founded by Dr. Mack Hicks, neuro-psychologist and chairman of the board of directors. More than a dozen directors, teachers, and staff have worked as members of the Center Academy “family” for at least 10 years.
Center Academy was one of a very few schools selected by NIMH to receive a $325,000 research grant to develop prescriptive learning programs (High Impact Learning) designed to meet the needs of individual students and promote a positive self concept.
