Dr. Spence is fully trained in plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as general surgery. He completed his medical education at the University of Connecticut, then spent five years as a General Surgery Resident, and one year as an attending physician in trauma and emergency medicine at St. Raphael's Hospital, an affiliate of the Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Spence went on to complete an additional three years as a Resident in Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas.
Dr. Spence is certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the:

Continuing education is important to Dr. Spence as he regularly attends symposiums related to procedures he performs to incorporate the newest techniques in the fields of breast surgery, liposuction and other aspects of Plastic Surgery.
