MMDC is one of nine active Regional Development Commissions (RDC) in the State. RDCs were made possible by the Regional Development Act of 1969. MMDC held its first meeting in 1973 and opened for business in 1974.
Our purpose, as written in the Legislation: "to facilitate intergovernmental cooperation and to ensure the harmonious coordination of State, Federal, and local comprehensive planning and development programs for the solution of economic, social, physical, and governmental problems of the State and its citizens."
