UPDATE: applications are still being sought!! Stay tuned for additional locations- please keep in mind that Terri can meet you virtually anywhere in RI!! "The Berry School" (temporary name) is a brand new Early Learning Center that will offer high quality early childhood care and education and a small school-aged program to all residents of RI. The center is located in a central South County location in the beautiful rural village of Saunderstown, North Kingstown, RI. The center is on the RIDOT public transportation Route 66 with it's own designated stop. It is our intention to be incorporated as non-profit with the State of RI as well as file for 501c3 Federal not-for-profit status. The mission of this project is to serve working families and their children in a high quality, safe, and caring environment. To that end, we will be hiring the most qualified candidates for each position. However, we are willing to support and mentor those that wish to pursue a higher education in our profession who are hired at entry level positions or as volunteers. There are many opportunities in our great state right now to advance your education, and we are willing to be flexible so long as you are willing to do the work! This is an open application session at community sites for all interested and qualified candidates to apply for anticipated open positions at our brand new facility in North Kingstown, RI. A sample of positions inlcude: Administrator (s) Teachers Teacher Assistants Nurse (RN or LPN) IT/Maintenance Family Partnership/Enrollment Specialist School-Aged Coordinator Infant and Toddler Caregiver/Educator (s) *some positions may be combined roles* All positions are contingent upon enrollment and will be offered in full, part, per-diem or substitute basis. All applicants must be willing and able to pass a National NCIC background check (fingerprints) and a RI Child Neglect and Abuse Reporting System Check PRIOR to being offered a position and working with children. Applicants who will be driving any vehicle while doing center business must submit a clear motor vehicle incident record and proof of vehicle insurance (these positions are very limited). A vehicle is NOT required for any position, only reliable transportation so that you may report to work on time in a consistent manner. Families and Volunteers are encouraged to get involved with center activities once we are open and serving children and families. Please see first post in this event to view all available application times for this location. A North Kingstown location is still being sought for the week of August 17th.

Update to the "new center" for all that interested: @terrikittell is finalizing a projected budget to submit to the prospective NEW facility owners and submitting it today. Terri is also submitting this projected budget plan to the Temporary BOD for approval and to seek private investors to help with the minimal start up costs. Update on name: The name shall remain confidential until the the BOD has given their approval. What I can tell you is that I have been given permission to dedicate the name in memory of a past infant caregiver who worked for APTG who suddenly passed last summer. She was an inspirational teacher, caregiver, mother, singer and friend to all and she is dearly missed by all she touched. I will continue to post updates just as soon as I have more information to share. Together we can make this happen! If you would like to donate to the start up costs, please contact Terri K Longworth and an escrow account will be set up to collect and track funds. All financial reports will be made available upon request and approval of the Temporary BOD. Have a blessed day!

Ok South County friends, family and business owners, please share this latest update! I am not the owner or a director of this new school, I am volunteering my services to get this "New Center" up and running. I may apply for a paid position down the road but will have to follow all the same screening and interview policies as the next person For now we need $! I cannot guarantee that you will be able to get a charitable tax donation receipt until we know we are a legal 501c3 but our number 1 business goal is to incorporate as not-for-profit. Federal grant partners are already lined up, and we will apply for more funding through the RI Race To The Top Fund also known as Exceed. So please spread the word and bring hope to our community!
Update to post on Saturday: We will NOT be reinstating APTG's corporation, else we will bring the liabilities, mistakes, and debt that APTG was plagued with for so many years. We will be starting a brand new business with equal, fair and transparent policies for all children, families and staff. Everyone will have a voice and everyone will be heard in a transparent manner. We are striving to create a safe haven for all those affect by and living in poverty who are willing to make a difference for themselves and for those we will serve. We will be regulated by all local, state and federal laws, including center policies for families, staff and volunteers that uphold our mission, vision and values. We will self-monitor our progress as well as invite all stakeholders to participate in the monitoring process. We still need start up funds as stated on Saturday so if you are willing and able to sponsor as a business or an individual please contact Terri Longworth. Terri.longworth@gmail.com Thank you and stay cool today!!
