Microlab

5
MicroLab was founded by a group of university professors whose intent was to create equipment to minimize time spent on laboratory preparation, provide software with a “research instrument” feel, and give students an experience that mirrors working in a “real” chemistry lab. Our FS-528 Interface has a built-in 16 wavelength spectrophotometer capable of measuring absorbance, fluorescence and scatter simultaneously. The front panel has 9 ports for pH, pressure, temperature, voltage, and conductance probes, and a drop counter input. There are three multifunctional CAT-5 inputs for supplementary modules in electrochemistry, acid-base chemistry, titrations, thermochemistry, gas laws, and spectrophotometry. Your students are capable of making measurements on up to 4 inputs at the same time to explore the relationship between multiple variables, tactile inputs to make students feel they are an integral part of the experiment, and software with integrated data analysis features for students to model their data. Due to the versatility of the interface, and quality of the acquired data MicroLab equipment can be used across the chemistry curricula, from general to analytical and physical chemistry laboratory courses.
