In the summer of 2010 the US Department of Energy awarded a competitive grant to 20 groups across the nation. Among those groups was an applicant that consisted of 14 Connecticut towns. The grant was primarily prepared by Earth Markets and the CT Clean Energy Fund and includes approximately $ million that is to be dedicated to household energy improvements in the 14 towns.
Today the Neighbor to Neighbor program is a collaborative effort between our participating town's residents and many dedicated non-profit organizations who are working to reach our goals.
Some of the folks involved in the program are the Clean Energy Task Forces, sustainability committees, and Green teams of our communities, as well as Clean Water Action, Earth Markets, The Student Conservation Association, Smartpower, and eMpower Devices.
