Alternative Directions’ programs for women and men leaving prison have been highly successful in breaking the cycle of recidivism characteristic of individuals who have a history of substance abuse and incarceration. Inside the prisons, ADI helps incarcerated individuals resolve pro se civil legal problems, and provides vital information about services available to them and their families after they are released. These activities include programs such as housing assistance, job placements, and substance abuse programs.
