The Clinton Community Nature Center is owned and operated by the Clinton Community Nature Center Association, Inc. The Association is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization formed in 1993 to reserve a precious tract of woods, right in the middle of Olde Towne Clinton, Mississippi.
Descendents of Walter Edwin Price and his wife, Lulie Baley Price, contributed acres of their former dairy farm in their memory. Additional property, donated by Mrs. Bea Quisenberry completed .4 miles of the Historic Natchez Trace within the Center. The 617 Dunton Road entrance property was donated by the late Whitfield Price to complete the Center's grounds.
Trail work began in 1996, and the Center formally opened to the public in 1997. Educational programming was implemented the following year. Price Hall, a multipurpose building, opened in 2000 and Price Nursery for native and historic plants opened in 2003.
