Dog flu is an infectious respiratory disease that is caused by canine influenza viruses. These viruses can be transmitted from dog to dog through both direct and indirect contact. Fortunately, vaccination is an effective way to prevent the spread of disease. One June 20th, 2017, Bells Ferry Veterinary Hospital is partnering with Merck Animal Health for Dog Flu Vaccination Day, during which we are offering discounted dog flu vaccines. Dog Flu Vaccination Day is aimed at educating pet owners about dog flu and encouraging vaccination. This initiative is in response to a recent outbreak of dog flu in several areas in the southeast.
