CKC Good Food® is all about kids and delicious food. Our founder, Nancy Close, is from a restaurant family with deep ties in the Twin Cities. She ran Caravan Serai, the first Afghan restaurant in the US, for many years. At the restaurant she learned how to cook and how to give guests a wonderful dining experience.
In 1990, she parlayed her restaurant experience into pleasing the particular tastes of kids, when she began catering for a local daycare owned by her brother. CKC Good Food was born and has continued growing ever since.
Today, CKC Good Food is an expert in school foodservice programs, offering delicious, nutritious meals kids love that also comply with the strict USDA nutritional guidelines for child nutrition programs. Each school day, CKC Good Food serves more than 25,000 school lunches, breakfasts, and after-school snacks and dinners. All of them meet or exceed the guidelines laid out in the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act (HHFKA).
