Comment Policy

The Washington State Department of Health welcomes your comments to encourage a productive dialogue on public health issues. When you comment on our page, your message is visible to the public and subject to public record disclosure laws. We ask that participants treat each other, our agency and our employees, with respect.

The Washington State Department of Health does not review, approve, or endorse every comment posted. We do not discriminate against any views, but reserve the right to remove comments, without notification, that:

• Identify personal medical information.
• Violate trademarks or copyrights.
• Contain violent, threatening, vulgar or obscene language, including that which is directed at race, color, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, ethnicity, age, religion, or disability (including abbreviations for, or alternate and nontraditional spellings of such language).
• Contains words the Facebook profanity filter deems offensive.
• Contain personal attacks on others.
• Include solicitations, advertisements or spam.
• Endorse any political, financial, commercial, or non-governmental agency or lobbying effort or linking to these sites.
• Link to pages that primarily solicits funds or donations.
• Encourage illegal activity or violates any local, state or federal law.

Accounts will be banned that commit multiple or repeated violations.
