Here's an update on today's house subcommittee meeting regarding heavy duty combination towing. The PTA represented our industry well and let's just say that the 22 House Representative committee members clearly understood the issues and what they mean to our industry, and were not at all impressed with PennDOT's testimony as to why they are against combination towing within a reasonable distance. Their argument was that that bridges can't handle the weight of a combination tow and it would only bring catastrophe. When asked what the difference is between a tow truck towing a truck and trailer and two tractor-trailers passing each other or one in front of the other when going over a bridge with the proper weight limits, they seem to be at a loss for words and said they would have to get back to them with an answer.

Please be aware of emergency service men and women out there on the road helping the general public in need. We have families too! There are more tow operators killed every year then any other first responder profession.
Over 100 tow trucks were present for a procession to remember Fred Griffith, a tow truck driver who was struck and killed by a DUI suspect while on the job. ➤➤➤ http://bit.ly/2mdP3ec
