Brockton Symphony Orchestra

Brockton Symphony Orchestra is considered one of the finest orchestras in the Greater Boston area. For 65 years, the Brockton Symphony Orchestra has provided live, professional-level symphonic concerts to the greater Brockton community; taught and inspired children about music; and encouraged participation of local musicians and students.

Brockton Symphony actively strives to enhance music education by performing with choruses and orchestras from local schools. As its gift to the community, the Orchestra presents an annual free Family Concert. In addition, the annual Feinberg Foundation Youth Competition encourages and rewards gifted young instrumentalists.

The Orchestra has had a colorful history of bringing performing arts to Brockton. Highlights include performances with the Boston Ballet, and fully-staged operas including Carmen and La Traviata.

The Orchestra has traveled to Boston, debuting at the Hynes Auditorium with John Covelli conducting Prokofieff’s Piano Concerto from the piano. Jordan Hall concerts featured Beethoven’s Ninth and Shostakovich’s Tenth Symphony.

Brockton Symphony has accompanied renowned soloists including Midori, Gil Shaham, Shlomo Mintz, Grant Johannesen, Leonard Rose, Julius Baker, and Eugene List. Soloists from the Boston Symphony have included Joseph Silverstein, Jules Eskin, John Ferrillo, and Jacques Zoon.

Our tradition of fine symphonic music continues with our 2013-2014 season. Under the dynamic baton of Maestro James M. Orent, the Symphony presents a Symphonic Voyage, exploring the musical history of Russia, Paris, and Prague, as well as presenting the Holiday Pops and Chamber Music Concerts.
