Pinelands Regional School District

The Pinelands Regional School District serves the communities of Bass River Township in Eastern Burlington County, and Eagleswood, Little Egg Harbor, and Tuckerton in Ocean County. Pinelands Regional Junior High School has approximately 850 students in grades 7-9; there are approximately 850 students in grades 10-12 at Pinelands Regional High School.

The District offers a full slate of courses for students of all abilities. In addition to the core subjects of Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, and Physical Education, Pinelands’ impressive array of elective courses include the Practical Arts, Visual Arts and World Languages, as well as award-winning Performing Arts courses in Drama and Music.

The Pinelands Regional School District has made a concerted effort to encourage its students to challenge themselves by taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses, particularly for those students who plan to attend college after graduation. This has resulted in significant growth in the number of students participating in the AP program.

Pinelands Regional High School recently was named to the Washington Post’s list of “America’s Most Challenging High Schools.” The list is based on a formula that takes into consideration the number of AP classes, International Baccalaureate or other college tests taken by graduating seniors. The Washington Post believes the rating reveals the level of a high school’s commitment to preparing students for college.

Named one of the state’s most improved high school’s by New Jersey Monthly magazine (September 2012), Pinelands Regional High School also has been named a “School To Watch” by the College Board, as a result of the increased numbers of students taking AP Courses while maintaining its percentage of scores at the 3, 4, or 5 level.

Pinelands Regional School District strives to provide the highest quality academic and extra-curricular programming possible, with supports to assist our students toward excellence. District faculty and staff take pride in providing an education which encourages students to do their best and to be prepared for the myriad of opportunities they will have when they graduate. The District encourages parents and guardians to be highly involved in their child’s education. Working together, Pinelands Regional School District provides a supportive and encouraging academic environment where all students have the opportunity to learn, succeed, and excel.
