SciGene was founded in 2003 following the acquisition of product lines formerly sold under the Robbins Scientific brand including the familiar “blue” rotating hybridization ovens. Since its inception, SciGene has focused on developing automated solutions for the complex sample workflows used with DNA microarray and FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization) assays performed in cytogenetics, pathology and genome research laboratories. In 2009, the Company completed the developed of a platform that automates the work from DNA to Scanner when performing CMA (chromosome microarray analysis) of patient samples now used in leading cytogenetics laboratories.
