West End Center Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are the hours of operation at West End Center?
-Office hours during the school year are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
-Office hours during the summer are 8:45 am to 4:45 pm.
-West End Center operates on the Roanoke City Public Schools schedule. Therefore, if RCPS is closed, then West End Center is closed as well.

2. What ages and grades does West End Center serve?
-West End Center serves ages 5 through 18.
-Children can attend West End Center starting in Kindergarten through their Senior Year in High School.
-If you would like your child to be enrolled in the Summer Program, he or she can be enrolled the summer before they start Kindergarten.

3. What areas does West End Center serve?
-West End Center serves all elementary, middle, and high schools that are recognized as a part of Roanoke City Public Schools.

4. What is the cost of tuition for my child(ren)?

*Please note that the Summer Rate is $5 more than the School Year Rate. West End Center charges a $5 activity fee for the Summer Program to offset the cost of activities your child(ren) may participate in.*

5. How do the children get to West End Center?
-During the school year, the children get to West End Center via school bus from their respective schools. The only schools that do not provide school bus transportation are Garden City Elementary, William Fleming High, and Patrick Henry High. However, please note that if your child is coming from Patrick Henry High, they may take the City Bus from the stop in front of the school and be dropped off at the stop on the corner across from West End Center.
-During the school year, parents are responsible for picking up their children at the end of the day.
-During the summer, parents will be responsible for finding transportation for their children to and from West End Center.

6. How do I pay online?
Go to West End Center’s website, There is a tab labeled “Parents”. Click on that tab, and it will take you to the page that has all the parent information. You will see an icon that says “ParentPay: Pay Online Now.” Click that icon, and it will prompt you to make a payment.

7. How do I give to West End Center?
Visit West End Center’s website at Go to our “Home” page and click the “Donate” button. This will lead you to our Click & Pledge page where you will prompted to make your contribution.

8. How long is the waiting list?
The length of West End Center’s waiting list varies based on the day. West End Center recommends that you get your children on the waiting list because there is no telling when a spot will open up.
