This photo was taken in March 1936. This performance was called the "Womanless Wedding". This took place on the old Liberty Union stage in a room that originally had dividers and was close to the office. It would have been packed. Over 75 local community members participated in this comedic performance. Such "Womanless Weddings" were popular in the early 19th century and they often raised funds for special causes. Take a look at the list of cast members and I bet you will find some familiar names. Ed Sands appears in the far right back row. Sam Schaffner is in the baby carriage front and center.

Here is a photograph that happens to be a personal favorite. As I have been busy sorting through many of the photographs and documents of the museum, I stumbled across a newspaper article that was in someone's personal scrapbook. It was the key to the background info for this beautiful photograph of Basil Square in 1872. Just the other day, I came across the gentleman on the buggy and just look what is in the background! Just a few of the treasures in the Baltimore Museum!
