Ombudsman are trained and state certified to be safe, confidential and caring advocates, who listen to residents, resolve problems, and make a difference. Our services are provided at no cost to residents of skilled nursing facilities and residential care facilities for the elderly.

How We Help

Ombudsman visit care facilities
- Talk with residents
- Investigate and resolve complaints
- Look for and resolve safety issues
- Advocate for quality care
- Train staff, families and residents on residents' rights and abuse prevention
- Witness durable power of attorney for health care forms

Office Hours
8:30am - 4:30pm
Monday through Friday

After hours and on weekends/holidays, an Ombudsman can be reached through our statewide crisis line at 1(800) 231-4024. For medical or safety emergencies, please call 911.
