Veterans in the Los Angeles area: National staff is teaming up with Department of California Legionnaires for a veterans outreach and district revitalization effort this week at American Legion Post 507, 24527 Spruce St., Newhall. The hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. A veterans service officer will be available all three days to assist with Department of Veterans Affairs-related questions.

The Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017 designates every March 29 as National Vietnam War Veterans Day and calls for the U.S. flag to be flown that day to honor those who served in Vietnam.
