History:
Founded in 1901 as St. Clara College in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin. Moved to River Forest, Illinois in 1922 and renamed Rosary College. Became Dominican University in 1997.

Campus:
Thirty-acre main campus is in River Forest, a residential suburb located 10 miles west of downtown Chicago. Classes are also offered at the Dominican Priory campus in River Forest as well as other sites in the Chicago area, in eastern Europe and online.

Enrollment (Fall 2013):
2,069 Undergraduate Students: 92% full-time, 8% part-time;
1,401 Graduate Students: 39% full-time, 61% part-time;
3,470 Total Students: 71% full-time, 29% part-time.

Library:
The Rebecca Crown Library provides library services to support the academic and instructional needs of the students, faculty, and staff of Dominican University. As a member of LIBRAS, CARLI (I-SHARE), and RAILS the library is able to provide access to materials from across the state of Illinois. In addition, the Rebecca Crown Library houses approximately 250,000 volumes, subscribes to over 100 databases providing access to over 30,000 full text journals. There are computers and a wireless network available throughout the library, several group study rooms, a cyber café, and the Noonan Reading Room for quiet study and reflection.

Undergraduate Programs:
Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees with over 50 majors as well as eight professional and pre-professional programs, including a post baccalaureate pre-medical studies program.

Graduate Programs:
Fifteen degree programs in Business, Education, Library and InformationScience, Social Work, Conflict Resolution, and Family Ministry.

Faculty (Fall 2012):
Full-Time: 153 Instructional, 7 Librarians
Part-Time: 250 (Illinois locations only, includes administrative and other staff who teach part-time)
Overall Student/Faculty Ratio: 11 to 1

Tuition (2013-2014):
Undergraduate: $28,440 full-time ($948 per credit hour).
Graduate: $658 to $870 per credit hour, depending on program.
Room and Board: $8,818 to $9,916 (double and meal plan with flex dollars).

Financial Aid:
100% of all incoming freshmen receive some form of financial aid with an average need-based scholarship/grant award of $20,555. The average total award, including institutional scholarship/grants, federal grants, state grants and student loans for freshmen is $26,995.
