Hawkswood Farm is a full service hunter/jumper facility located in Rehoboth, MA. We provide riding lessons, full or rough board, training, and pony parties. What to expect on your first visit. Many people think that when they come for an hour lesson that they will show up, get on a horse, ride for an hour, and leave. It's not quite like that. You will come and determine which horse is best for you. Then you will get the horse ready by grooming and tacking them. Then you will ride the horse. Depending on how much you make your horse work, there may be some substantial cool down required. You will have to walk your horse after your lesson until they are no longer sweaty and their body temperature returns to normal. This prevents a horse from becoming lame. So make sure when you book your appointment that you give yourself plenty of time for the whole experience. A minimum of an hour and forty five minutes. This will ensure you get the most of your visit and not feel rushed.
