Food Bank of Central New York is a not-for-profit organization working to eliminate hunger through nutritious food distribution, education and advocacy in cooperation with the community. We have 261 emergency food programs throughout Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, and St. Lawrence counties.
We like to say that "we work for food" and we provide emergency food and nutritional education to a diverse group of member programs including food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, child care agencies and neighborhood and senior centers. We proudly collaborate with local and national businesses, private foundations and government agencies to share resources and spread the word about the issue of hunger in our community.
Together, we have been able to provide over one million pounds of food per month throughout our eleven county service area. Together, we are helping to provide food for thousands of nutritious meals every day so families don’t have to choose between feeding their family or heating their homes. Together, we are ending hunger in central and northern New York.
