Athenaeum Music & Arts Library shared Athenaeum Art Center's event.
Join us on Saturday, July 22nd, from 11-6pm at the Athenaeum Art Center. We are participating in Barrio Con, a neighborhood celebration of the popular arts. Create your own mini-comic book as you learn how to hand-bind a book! This is a free, family friendly activity.
Join us for a selection of unique, fun, family-friendly and free activities as we celebrate Chicano-Con. On view will be DARKSTAR, a solo exhibition by multimedia Tijuana based artist Charles Glaubitz. The work on view is based on Glaubitz’ graphic novels and combine elements of myth and spirituality with comics, alchemy and science. From 1-3pm, Charles will be with us signing copies of his latest graphic novel, "Starseeds", released earlier this year. All day long, we will be teaching kids and adults alike how to create their own mini-comic book! Supplies and instruction will be provided.
