Believing that strong communities begin with healthy families, Foothill Family Service strengthens children, teens, adults and families to help them lead productive lives. We specialize in providing quality mental health and social services.
Foothill was founded in 1926 by Pasadena community volunteers who passed a hat around to raise funds in support of needy families. Since then, we have expanded to serve over 20,000 individuals in Pasadena, Glendale, Burbank, and the Pomona and San Gabriel Valleys at our seven Family Centers.
Our staff of more than 293 employees includes social workers, marriage and family therapists, early childhood therapists, parent partners, psychologists and consulting psychiatrists. Clients are seen in our Family Centers and via home visits.
Our services are provided in 18 languages: English, Japanese, Armenian, Cantonese, Tagalog, Spanish, Korean, Farsi, Thai, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Arabic, Italian, Khmer, French, Russian, German, Filipino and American Sign. We also provide on-site service at 101 schools, plus 47 preschools.
Our programs focus on supporting the whole family unit, and include specialized programs in parent education, child abuse prevention and treatment, family therapy, anger management, domestic violence prevention and support, batterers' treatment groups, substance abuse treatment groups, and many more.
