AHA will accept pre-applications for its Housing Choice Voucher Program (also known as Section 8) Waiting List Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at 9 a.m. EST through Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at 5 p.m. EST. Pre-applications will be accepted online at Registrants who require assistance in completing a pre-application because of a disability, because they require language translation services or communication in an alternate format, or for other reasons, may call the AHA Waiting List hotline at 1-855-242-7701. In recognition of the 2017 theme for Black History Month, “The Crisis in Black Education”, the Auburn Avenue Research Library, in collaboration with the Atlanta Branch of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) and Georgia Public Broadcasting, will host a screening of the documentary film, "All the Difference" on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 7PM, hosted by Dr. Candy Tate. Filmed over five and a half years, "All the Difference" intimately chronicles the lives of two African-American males from the south side of Chicago, Robert Henderson and Krishaun Branch and their ambition to be the first in their families to attend and graduate from college. This event is free and open to the public at the Auburn Avenue Research Library, 101 Auburn Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30303
