Dark Insurance Agency is one of the oldest insurance agencies in Alexander City. Our roots can be traced back to the 1920′s through previous owners like Mr. John Fuqua, followed by Mr. Adams, then later Mr. Joe Reese.
John Dark, the current owner, began his insurance career in 1969 with Continental Insurance Company in Birmingham, AL. He worked as both an underwriter and field representative for three years before returning home to Alexander City and buying into the agency that is now Dark Insurance. Although John is still active in the agency, his two sons, John and Will Dark assure the continued perpetuation of Dark Insurance Agency for years to come.
We feel the strength and success of our agency rest in the fact that we are an independent insurance agency able to “shop” our customer’s insurance through 25-30 nationally known, financially strong insurance companies. We pride ourselves in giving the very best in claim service and that’s why a large part of our new business comes as referrals of our existing customer base.
