Our Goals for this year: 20010—2011 Strategic Plan
1. Goal: RJ programming school district wide. Pull together and train students who want to make a difference in their school. To change the, climate, understanding and levels of respect among students and teachers.
2. Goal: Full operation of existing programs; Reparative Panels, School based panels, Bike Recycle Shop, Re-entry, Drop in and support (re-entry). Enough volunteers, referrals, staff and support from other community entities.
3. Goal: Volunteers. Without a wide variety of volunteers the Justice Center would not exist! Volunteers need to be recruited through education, supported by staff and trainings, and encouraged to be as involved as they are able.
4. Goal: More of a presence at Select-board meetings.
5. Goal: Increase publicity and community education around RJ philosophy. Specifically; Police, arresting officer at first Rep panel meeting. Probation & Parole updates on what happens when participants don’t successfully complete.
6. Goal: Prevention. To work towards: our young people not becoming involved in the criminal justice system, previously incarcerated persons not becoming re-incarcerated, and probationers not re-offending. All with a goal of creating fewer victims in Springfield.
7. Goal: More connection to local organizations for volunteer opportunities. As a way of repairing harm caused to a community volunteer work is very important to the RJ processes.
