The Mission Christ the Servant Parish at Our Lady of Peace Church is to care for our acre of God’s world as a Community of Disciples that will be enabled, empowered and ennobled to proclaim with our lives the message that Jesus proclaimed to the world - God is in love with humanity, while continuing the living legacy that has been handed down though the history of the two merged parishes, Our Lady of Peace and St. Paul's Canton.
The Gospel of Luke, Chapter 4: 18-19 provides us with the mission of Jesus. Jesus enters his home town, and going to the synagogue reads from the Prophet Isaiah saying to the people:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me; He has sent me to bring glad tidings to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, and let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year of favor acceptable to the Lord.”
