Today, SVHC provides treatment for at-risk youth at NO COST through the following key programs: • LifeFOCUS (Residential Treatment Services): A safe haven for youth in crisis, we provide basic necessities (food, clothing, shelter, personal hygiene), individual, group, and family counseling; psycho-education groups, mentoring, and recreation. We also teach healthy alternatives such as coping skills and anger management. • InHomeFOCUS (Home Based Counseling): Early intervention therapeutic services to assess the child and the family unit and provide counseling services and support in the home and community. • LifeRECOVER (Substance Abuse Treatment Program): Intensive outpatient services to support youth in abstaining from illicit drugs and/or alcohol. St. Vincent youth are significantly at risk. Many have been involved with the juvenile justice system or referred by school districts for failure in academic settings. They may be victims of abuse and neglect. Many are homeless. Our program goals are to encourage at-risk youth to remain in school and improving academic performance, reduce the number of youth committing crimes and violent acts, and increasing the number of at-risk youth who develop resiliency to cope with chronic stresses and life.
