In 1924 when Walter P. Chrysler created a torque wrench to control quality on his aluminum engines, he licensed Paul A. Sturtevant to manufacture and sell the invention. Sturtevant continued to develop new tools. In 1940 he incorporated his company. That year, Frank Livermont also incorporated a company called Richmont. When the two companies merged they created the most comprehensive torque tool offering on the planet. We still maintain our founders vision of making the world's best torque tools. The customers who have been with us for 70 years seem to agree.
