The Council provides Healthy Youth Education programs for adolescents ages 10-18 in Catawba County. Our prevention programs educate youth about making healthy choices, bullying, future goals, healthy relationships, internet/social media safety, nutrition, peer pressure, puberty, reproductive health, sexually transmitted infections, sexual violence, teen pregnancy, setting boundaries, and avoiding risky behaviors.
We also administer the Lunch Buddy Program, a mentoring initiative that utilizes adult mentors to help students identified as at-risk for dropping out of school. The goal of this program is to provide these students with positive adult role models, increase attendance rates, reduce school drop-out rates, improve grades, and decrease office referrals.
The Council offers these programs to schools, community groups, and faith-based organizations. We can also provide parent education workshops. To learn more about our programs, please visit our website or call our office!
