Anson County Arts Council

The Anson County Arts Council was formed in 1978 by local art enthusiasts. The Arts Council is a non-profit organization dependent upon funds from foundations, grants, memberships and fundraisers. Our partnership with Anson County Schools and South Piedmont Community College enables us to provide programs, residencies and summer activities.

Local artists are encouraged to showcase their work in our local galleries, the Arts Council gallery at 110 S. Rutherford St. and Olde Mill Gallery in the Lockhart-Taylor Center of South Piedmont Community College, 514 N. Washington St, in Wadesboro. Much of the art displayed in the galleries is for sale. Please support ACAC and our local artists.

The ACAC also owns and operates the newly-renovated Ansonia Theatre, a performing arts center at 112 S. Rutherford Street. The Arts Council brings a wide variety of art and art forms to Anson County, striving to enrich the cultural life of our community.

Other programs include theatre, music, dance, visual arts, creative writing, poetry,
and weekly art activities in both the middle school and the high school.
