The Village of Godfrey is a municipal government in the state of Illinois. While the Village of Godfrey is one of Illinois' newest municipalities, it is also one of its largest communities. At over 36 square miles, the Village of Godfrey is the eighth largest municipality in terms of geographic area in the State of Illinois. The Village of Godfrey has developed as a primarily residential community, consisting of a population of approximately 17,982. Much of the Village of Godfrey remains devoted to agricultural uses or remains in a natural state. Godfrey Village Hall houses the following departments: Mayor’s office, Village Clerk, Parks & Recreation, Building & Zoning, Public Works, and Engineering
