The South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services is directed by Jerry B. Adger, who was appointed by Gov. Nikki Haley in 2015 and serves as a member of her Cabinet.
The Department is composed of three divisions: Field Operations, Administrative Services, and Paroles and Pardons.
The Department is South Carolina’s third largest government law enforcement agency. In existence since the 1940s, the agency supervises more than 30,000 individuals convicted of crimes who live within the communities of our state.
These offenders are on probation, parole and other forms of supervision. Supervision of these offenders in the community, rather than keeping them in prison, saves taxpayers millions of dollars annually. And those offenders on supervision are working, supporting themselves and their families and paying taxes, thus supporting the local economy.
The Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services, or “Triple P”, as it is often called, has at least one office in all 46 counties in the state. PPP also operates a 24-hour GPS Operations Center. If there is a need to report any sex offender/GPS issues during a time of emergency, please call the GOC at 1-800-263-7191.
