The kid favorite Chuck E. Cheese's is now offering "Sensory Sensitive Sundays," for your child with special needs. On the first Sunday of every month, stores will open two hours early, lights, music and crowds will be kept low and appearances by Chuck E. will be limited. Today our Board of Directors and staff put their heads together in the first of three vision meetings to discuss the future of Avondale House. By working together, conducting community focus groups, and consulting our stakeholders we are planning how we can effectively and compassionately meet the needs of individuals on the autism spectrum. With the increase in rates of autism diagnosis, our work is more important than ever.

Many kids with sensory issues are unable to wear itchy Halloween costumes or tolerate make up. These are costumes that can be worn with sweatpants/sweatshirts or your own comfortable clothes.

You're invited to trick-or-treat with your child at the Avondale House Halloween party, hosted by the Friends of Avondale House. On October 31 from 11am-1pm, your student will be treated to pizza for lunch, face painting and trick-or-treat stations around the building.
