The GTPDD began operation in 1970 and was officially recognized in 1971 by executive order. It is governed by a Board of Directors, and works in cooperation with a County Advisory Committee from each of our seven counties. GTPDD's purpose is to enhance the resources of each local government in the seven-county service area: Choctaw, Clay, Lowndes, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, Webster, and Winston. The result sought is a stronger infrastructure for economic development and improved services for the citizens.
