Project NOW Head Start is a school readiness and family support program, providing comprehensive services at no cost to low-income families with children aged 3-5 years. Head Start is funded primarily by the Department of Health & Human Services and Department of Agriculture.
The program is designed for *Families living in poverty *Children aged 3-5 years *Focusing on children with health-related issues and disabilities *Various environments and experiences *Promoting a positive self-concept *Enhancing awareness of the world *Partnering with parents and families
Program Options: Center-Based Program- child attends 4-5 classroom sessions a week, up to 4 1/2 hours a day, 9 month school year.
Home-Based Program- child and parent receives weekly home visit with advocate, minimum of 1 1/2 hours per visit, 9 month program year.
Extended Day Program- for parents who require a full day and full year of services, entire program is held at a child care partner's center, minimum of 3 1/2 hours Head Start classroom session, full day of child care available before and after the Head Start session, 12 month program.
