Amidst all of the chaos going on around here for the last couple of months I am back on the 45 Magnum and trying to get it wrapped up and out of here. I had to completely disassemble the engine in order to repair all of the welds on the crankcase's where relocation of the cylinder studs for the XL top end were done. All but two were cracked. Good thing we did. Notice the dark sediment in the case half. This is a mixture of oil (assembly lube) and glassbead. Also notice the lack of crankcase coating (Glyptal or THD) and no, zero, crankcase sealant. This thing would have leaked like a cheap diaper. It will all be better soon.

Moved, raised 3-1/2", leveling and tramming completed. Three more to go.

New addition. Much more to come.

When you need a larger fin for a Knucklehead, make one. Interesting stuff in cast iron. Never fails to keep me amused.

Some days are more challenging than others. Step cautiously, think, do not rush, ask questions and remember, "First, do know harm".
