I have just started watching some old Hollywood movies on TCM. Watching them does bring up many questions about the times and whether the movies reflect the times that were or the times that Hollywood wanted us to see.

I have an unreasonable prejudice that thinks if the marketing department of the movie had wanted an alternative look - they would have gone looking for it. I know, I know.
